Egyptian Embassy
Residence

The Egyptian Embassy Residence on Laurier Avenue East showcases Graebeck Construction's expertise in combining heritage preservation with modern construction, a unique project requiring both precision and craftsmanship.

The project involved the partial demolition of an existing heritage facility on the property, followed by the construction of a new modern building for the Egyptian Embassy of Canada. The work required careful, controlled demolition that preserved key heritage elements of the original structure while clearing the way for the new diplomatic facility.

The demolition phase demanded exceptional precision. Heritage elements identified for retention such as exterior masonry features, architectural details, and structural components were protected, stabilized, and documented throughout the demolition process. The transition between old and new was managed with sensitivity to both the historical significance of the original building and the high standards expected of a diplomatic facility.

The new building was completed with high-end interior finishes appropriate to a diplomatic residence including premium millwork, custom stone installations, and sophisticated MEP systems providing the comfort and security required for a foreign mission in Canada's capital.
