Montfort Hospital
Multi-Area Renovation
The Montfort Hospital renovation project on Montreal Road demonstrates Graebeck Construction's expertise in the most technically demanding segment of institutional construction: active health-care facility renovation with critical infection control requirements and specialized medical infrastructure.
The project encompassed multi-area renovations throughout the hospital, with a primary focus on the Emergency Room. The ER scope included selective demolition of existing spaces, construction of new patient facilities including a modern waiting room designed to reduce patient stress and improve patient flow, and, critically, a lead-lined CT scanner room. The construction of a medically compliant lead-lined room requires extremely precise tolerances, specialized materials, and coordination with radiological physicists to verify shielding effectiveness prior to commissioning.
As with all Graebeck healthcare projects, patient care was maintained throughout. Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) protocols were strictly observed, including negative pressure environments during demolition, HEPA filtration, and sealed corridor access routes separating the construction zone from active clinical areas at all times.
